The C locus C - wildtype allele, complete dominant ct - Tonkinese allele, recessive cm - Marten allele, recessive ch - Himalayan allele, recessive c - Albino allele, recessive The C allele will always be complete dominant over the recessive alleles. The relationship of the recessive alleles however are unique and that's exactly what confuses people. When the recessive alleles are paired they will show a semi-dominant relationship with each other, meaning both alleles are visible in the phenotype. Just remember it's only the recessive alleles that have this unique relationship, the complete dominant C is still very much complete dominant over the recessive alleles. |
